Power failure, herbalist lands in police net for providing spiritual powers to bandits
There appears to be failure of mystical powers of a traditional spiritualist who provides spiritual powers for bandits terrorizing people on the outskirt of Niger State, towards the Abuja axis. The spiritualist who provides protection for bandits cannot protect himself at the time he was picked up by the police in Niger State.
Operatives of the Intelligence Unit of the Niger State Police Command arrested the 50 years old man, Umar Samaila, in Maikunkele, Bosso Local Government Area, after neutralizing a plot to kidnap some worshipers during service in a Church at Buku Village, Abaji Area Council, FCT, Abuja.
The suspect during interrogation, according to the police, admitted being the spiritual leader of notorious bandits hibernating in Niger, FCT, Abuja, and Nasarawa state.
Samaila, the police said, revealed that he often guarantees the bandits who kidnap people of their safety and success before they proceed on operations.
The Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), in a statement disclosed that a joint Police/vigilante intervention by the Lapai Division resulted in the arrest of some suspected kidnappers and cattle rustlers at Maijaki and Rafindaji Forest, border communities between Niger State and Abuja, the FCT.
The security operatives recovered 40 cows and 15 sheep from the bandits.
