Malami approves freezing of Kyari, others’ assets
Justice Minister Abubakar Malami has approved a request by the NDLEA to confiscate DCP Abba Kyari’s assets, and those of his accomplices’.
The request was dispatched to the justice ministry weeks ago.
The drug-trafficking suspects may lose their cash and money in bank accounts, vehicles, buildings, jewelry, and other valuables.
Kyari, a former commander of the IGP Intelligence Response Team, has been caught in cybercrimes and drug trafficking allegation he has been trying to free himself.
The NDLEA spokesman, Femi Babafemi, confirmed that the accused persons’ bank accounts would be frozen, noting that this was standard practice.
