Lawmaker hails women fighting for Ukraine
A Ukrainian lawmaker, Lesia Vasylenko, has hailed the women and girls fighting the Russian invasion of Ukraine.
Vasylenko, a mother of three, said women make up 15 per cent of the Ukrainian army.
She said, “Almost 7000 women serve in the Air Force alone. Women are the heart of the resilience of local communities. Heroic mothers and their inspiring daughters. This is the 🇺🇦 resistance.”
