APC needed ₦1b to help Tinubu’s campaign, so Buhari encouraged 10 men to contest, Omokri claims
The former special assistant to former president Goodluck Jonathan, Reno Omokri, has revealed what he thinks that made the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, to have several presidential aspirants, ahead of the 2023 presidential election.
According to a tweet he made on his verified twitter handle, Reno Omokri claimed that the All Progressives Congress, needed the sum of ₦1 billion to help Bola Tinubu’s presidential campaign, but don’t know how to get the money. Because of that, President Muhammadu Buhari encouraged 10 men, including VP Yemi Osinbajo, Chris Ngige, Rotimi Amaechi, Adams Oshiomhole and others to contest, so as to raise the money.
On several occasions, Reno Omokri had made it known that the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, is likely to present Bola Tinubu as its presidential candidate, ahead of the next year’s presidential election.
But going with what he said here, I really don’t believe this, because Tinubu alone can singlehandedly sponsor this own presidential campaign, if there is a need for him to do so. But nevertheless, let’s wait and see what will happen next year.
