PDP appoints Philip Aduda, Senate Minority Leader, Utazi, Minority Whip
The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) on Tuesday appointed Senator Philip Aduda, representing Federal Capital Territory (FCT) in the National Assembly the new Minority Leader of the opposition party. The PDP also appointed Chukwuka Utazi, representing Enugu North, the new Minority Whip in the Senate.
The President of the Senate, Ahmad Lawan, read the appointments at plenary on Tuesday in a letter by the PDP National Secretary, Senator Samuel Anyanwu, transmitted to the senate leadership.
Aduda was appointed to replace Senator Enyinnaya Abaribe, Abia State, who resigned as Minority Leader after losing the AbiaS Tate governorship ticket. Abaribe later decamped from PDP to the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), where he got the senatorial ticket for the 2023 general elections.
Senator Chukwuka Utazi replaced Senator Aduda, the new Senate Minority Leader.
