El-Rufai reacts to renaming of Kaduna State
Kaduna State’s governor, Nasir El-Rufai, has opposed renaming the state. According to rumors, Zazzau State had replaced Kaduna State’s name.
According to reports, the Kaduna State renaming bill was approved by the National Assembly and delivered to President Buhari for approval by Senate President Ahmad Lawan.
Additionally, it was stated that 13 of the lower chamber’s 15 members, who represented various regions of Kaduna State, approved the bill, which was sponsored jointly by Senators Suleiman Abdu Kwari and Uba Sani of Kaduna Central.
El-Rufai responded by debunking the report and labeling it as false. The governor referred to the news as “false and citizens of the state” in a statement issued by Muyiwa Adekeye, his Special Advisor for Media and Communications.
