Obi claims he’s richer than US president, won’t need Nigeria’s money
LP’s presidential candidate Peter Obi has told his US supporters he doesn’t need Nigeria’s money or private jets because he’s richer than US President Joe Biden.
Obi is one of Nigerian billionaire leaders dodging taxes and stashing billions in shell companies in tax havens abroad—as exposed in Pandora Papers, an exhaustive investigation by the International Consortium of Investigative Journalists.
In a video now trending Obi said,” I say to people, President Biden is worth 8.9 million USD. Why should somebody like me steal public money when I am richer than the American President? I am already over-blessed by God. We just need to develop our country.”
“I’m not looking for a private jet, sophisticated house or to buy a house in America because I can’t live in America.
“What we are doing is not about the normal politics or contesting elections.”
APC presidential candidate Bola Tinubu once claimed he was richer than Osun state, too.
