Ukraine claims fighting strongly against Russia, recaptures 6,000 sq km territory
The military of Ukraine has claimed leading the country to but down the superpower status of Russia, demonstrating Ukraine’s military might to confront the Russian forces and recapture territories in Eastern Ukraine.
President Volodymyr Zelensky of Ukraine, therefore, celebrated that the Ukrainian forces recaptured 6,000 square kilometres (2,320 square miles) of territory from Russia in a counter-offensive in the month September, which is just about two weeks.
Zelensky in his daily address, celebrated: “Since the start of September, our soldiers have already liberated 6,000 square kilometres of Ukrainian territory in the east and south, and we are moving further.”
Zelensky also disclosed a sweeping success in Ukraine’s lightning counter-offensive in Kharkiv region in the northeast, and recaptured the cities of Izyum, Kupiansk and Balakliya, and other territories.
The president disclosed that significant gains have been made in the southern Kherson region, where the Ukrainian military alerted on Monday that they have recaptured 500 square kilometres.
The US Institute for the Study of War think tank remarked that “Ukraine has turned the tide in its favour, but the current counter-offensive will not end the war”.
The initial fear of Ukraine at the early stage of the conflict has been erased as the war advanced, and the Ukrainian authorities claim to have turned the war against Russia with massive support from the US and NATO allies.
