Signs that a person’s liver isn’t functioning properly
Are you aware that there are some symptoms that point to the possibility that your liver is not working as it should? The liver is vested with so many roles and as such, when it’s not functioning well, you may easily notice it in various parts of the body regardless of how distinct they may be from the liver.
So in this article in line with a publication on Very Well Health, we are going to have a look at some of the symptoms that show a person’s liver is not working well. Just sit tight and enjoy this article while learning something new.
What Are The Symptoms That Show A Person’s Liver is Not Working Well?
1. Darker than normal urine colour – when the liver is not working well, you may experience unusually dark urine colour even after taking enough fluids. Sudden change of urine colour to dark should not be taken for granted as it could mean one is having liver related issues or the liver is about failing.
2. Itchy skin – the liver helps get rid of toxins from the blood but when it’s not working well, you may start feeling unusually itchy and even in some cases, notice rashes on the skin. If this happens to you, do well to see a doctor.
3. Blood in stool – this is another sign that may indicate or show that your liver is not working well. Sudden appearance of blood in your stool even with little to no symptoms should not be taken for granted because it may mean the liver is about failing or even something more serious like intestinal cancer.
4. Swelling of the ankles and feet means the body is retaining water or fluid and this can only happen due to failure of either the liver or kidneys to play it’s role. So unusual or sudden swelling of the ankles and feet should be examined seriously.
