Mixed reactions as Dino Melaye introduce Atiku as ‘Omo Eko Pataki’ at a Lagos event (Video)
With electoral campaigns getting set to kick off in roughly two weeks in Nigeria, reactions have begun trailing a video in which Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Campaign Council Spokesman and former Lawmaker, Senator Dino Melaye introduced the party’s presidential flag bearer, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar as ‘Omo Eko Pataki’ (important son of Lagos).
Recall that Atiku and his entourage arrived in Lagos on Tuesday to meet with PDP stakeholders in the state in preparation for the commencement of the political campaigns scheduled to kick off across the country on September 28, 2022.
However, in footage that was shared on Dino Melaye’s verified Facebook Page some hours ago, the former Lawmaker, while introducing Atiku to a crowd of supporters, described the PDP presidential candidate as an important son of Lagos.

Quite interestingly, Senator Melaye’s choice of words has led to a flurry of reactions among his followers as many of them trooped to the comments section to air their opinion on the introduction. While some persons felt it was wrong to introduce Atiku Abubakar in such a manner especially because he is a northerner, others, however, gave reasons why he deserved such a title given to him by his campaign spokesman.
