My nephew, driver still in captivity of kidnappers after 3 months – Kukah cries out
Bishop Matthew Kukah of the Sokoto Catholic Diocese, on Monday, disclosed that he has spent about N30 million to secure the release of kidnapped priests, decrying that three months after, his nephew and a driver are still in the captivity of kidnappers.
Bishop Kukah, at a forum in Abuja on political communication and issue-based campaign in the 2023 general elections, disclosed that his relations were kidnapped along the Kaduna-Abuja express way three months ago, noting that his nephew and his wife were on their way to Abuja for medical care when they were kidnapped.
The Catholic Bishop said that the kidnappers demanded N50 million ransom, later reduced to N20 million, noting that currently, he has spent over N30 million to secure the release of some kidnapped priests kidnapped working under him.
Bishop Kukah Nigerians at the forum urged Nigerians to resist sentiments in the election of politicians running for offices.
