Police Commissioner shoots self in the head with Service Pistol in Benin City
An Assistant Police Commissioner, Christopher Osakue, has committed suicide in Upper Sokponba area of Benin City, Edo state.
According to reports, Osakue shot himself in the head with his service pistol. It’s believed he had a partial stroke years ago, and the resultant paralysis altered his psychological health.
Feeling depressed, he sent his wife and kid out ostensibly on an errand and took his life when they’d gone.
He didn’t leave a suicide note.
The late police officer was in charge of training and development at the state police command after his recent posting from Ondo State.
