“My social reforms will transform Delta” – Omo-Agege

Governorship candidate of the All Progressive Congress (APC) in Delta, Sen. Ovie Omo-Agege says he will make the state an ICT haven if elected.

Presenting his manifesto to newsmen on Thursday in Asaba, Omo-Agege, also deputy senate president said he would put an end to massive paper works in the judiciary and in the civil service by digitising procedures.

“Our aspiration is beyond the ordinary quest for power; rather, it is a movement to liberate, rebuild and reinvigorate our dear state.

“It is our desire to transform the lives of our people. We will introduce a social reform that will change the face of governance.

“Under our administration, the era of judges and other government officials taking records manually will be a thing of the past.

“Our social reform programme will make Delta an ICT haven in Nigeria.

“We will make government administration easy with computerised system that will give room for efficient service delivery,’’ Omo-Agege said.

The APC candidate said he desired to rebuild Delta and put smiles on the faces of the people, who he said, had suffered years of bad governance.

According to him, the people of Delta have remained in abject poverty in spite of huge monies accruing to the state from the federation account and the 13 per cent oil derivation revenue.

The candidate added that his 60-page manifesto sought to bring innovations into governance and cut wastages for the overall development of Delta.

“I entered this race because I, like most of you here am dissatisfied with the state of affairs in our dear state.

“Ours is a movement to restore our dear state to the path of progress and development.

“There is no gainsaying the fact that our state, Delta is lagging behind in every index of economic development and progress,’’ Omo-Agege stressed.

The APC candidate called on the people of Delta to reject the ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) at the next elections.

The News Agency of Nigeria reports that highlights of Omo-Agege’s 60-page manifesto are on employment and empowerment, development, good governance and endurance, peace and security.
