Ekiti Govt. assures traditional rulers recognition
Ekiti State Deputy Governor, Mrs Monisade Afuye, says the present administration in the state is commited to giving adequate recognition and respect to traditional Institutions.
Afuye said this on Tuesday, during a meeting with traditional rulers in her office in Ado-Ekiti.
She expressed appreciation to them for their support and the fatherly role they played in the development of the state.
Afuye commended the neutrality shown by the royal fathers during the last election and urged them to ensure that their subjects are well secured.
She assured the royal fathers that the ongoing construction of the traditional council chambers would be delivered by February 2023.
The deputy governor called for more support from the royal fathers in ensuring the development of the state.
She promised that vacant stools would be filled promptly in line with the laid down law.
Responding, the Chairman, Council of Traditional Rulers, who is also the Onisan of Isan-Ekiti, Oba Ayodele Adejuwon, commended the deputy governor for her thoughtfulness.
She prayed God to endow her with wisdom and knowledge needed to succeed in office.
Also contributing, the Alawe of Ilawe-Ekiti, Oba Ajibade Alabi, called for more welfare packages for Obas in the state.
