Obaseki moves to unify Edo PDP after Supreme Court judgment
Governor Godwin Obaseki of Edo State has risen to unify the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Edo State after the judgement of the Supreme Court of Nigeria which dismissed the appeal by the Dan Orbih faction f the party. Obaseki, therefore, initiated moves to mobilise grassroots support for the party in the 2023 general elections in the state.
The governor in a statement by the Secretary to the State Government, Osarodion Ogie Esq, dated February 8, addressed to the Esan Solidarity Forum, invited stakeholders in Edo Central Senatorial District to a meeting on Friday to deliberate on the development of education in the zone.
The letter reads: “I wish to specially invite you to specially invite you to a Town Hall Meeting of major stakeholders to address pertinent issues around the development of Education in Edo Central Senatorial District.
“The extraordinary Stakeholders engagement will be attended by Enijes, representatives of Market Women, Youth Leaders, Village Heads, Party Leaders, Civil Society and Heads of Educational Institutions.
“It is hoped that this engagement will provide the much-desired harmony and development in the Senatorial District.”
The meeting was scheduled to hold at the International Conference Centre, AAU, Ekpoma, at 1200 noon.
