Lagos records low voters’ turnout in Gov election

The governorship election in Lagos State on Saturday recorded low voters’ turnout at various polling units. National Daily monitoring the election in the suburbs of Ikeja, from Ishaga to Iju Road, College Road, Ogba, Agege, Agidingbi, Ojodu-Berger, observed that the crowd that turned out for the governorship election was far below what was noticed during the presidential and national assembly election on February 25. Several polling units were scanty, with a crowd lower than 55% compared to the turnout for the presidential election.
Meanwhile, the process is peaceful at the various polling units visited by National Daily in Ojodu and Ifako/Ijaye LCDA, and Agege LGA. Electoral material arrives on time for the commencement of simultaneous accreditation and voting.
The Police were observed to be on patrol to ensure peaceful elections.
