UTME Fraud: Mmesoma’s dad reacts to daughter’s confession
Romanus Ejikeme, the father of Mmesoma Ejikeme, the Anambra student who recently admitted to forging her 2023 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) result, expressed that his daughter did not confess her wrongdoing to him promptly.
In an interview with NTA News shared on Twitter, Romanus revealed this on Saturday.
Mmesoma’s father pleaded with Nigerians and the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) to forgive his daughter.
He stated, “As I mentioned earlier, my daughter did not reveal her actions to me in a timely manner. When I became aware of her mistake, I held her responsible.
“I remind her every day to exercise caution and avoid tarnishing her reputation as a rising star. I sincerely apologize to JAMB and Nigerians and request their forgiveness on her behalf.”
National Daily reported that JAMB had last Sunday accused Mmesoma of manually inflating her 2023 UTME result from 249 to 362 and went ahead to obtain a scholarship from Innoson which has now been withdrawn.
