Rivers legislators pass resolution on vote of confidence in Gov Fubara
Legislators in the Rivers State House of Assembly, led by Speaker Edison Ehie, on Tuesday passed a resolution on vote of confidence in Governor Siminalayi Fubara.
The legislators in a statement on Tuesday, indicating that the resolution on the vote of confidence on the governor was passed at the plenary session, explained that resolution was based on the developmental strides and security initiatives of Governor Fubara to keep Rivers State peaceful.
The legislators disclosed their resolve to “continuously give the governor the required support to accomplish his consolidation and continuity agenda to benefit the state.”

The lawmakers condemned the attack on the residence of Rt. Hon. Ehie, including the burning the Rivers State House of Assembly chamber three weeks ago, the urging the governor to commence the rehabilitation works as soon as possible.
The members of the House of Assembly further demanded the Inspector General of Police, IGP Kayode Egbetokun, and other security agencies to investigate the attacks in the state and bring the culprits to book.
Earlier, other lawmakers of the Rivers State House of Assembly, led by the former Speaker, rt. Hon. Martin Amaewhule, were gathered to have met at the State Assembly Complex on Moscow Road, under heavy security protection.
They had demanded the Inspector General of Police to investigate the burning of the Assembly Chambers and ensure the perpetrators are prosecuted.
