Plateau: Protesting youths burn down poultry farm
Youths in the Angwa Rukuba-Etoo Baba community of Jos North LGA, Plateau State, set ablaze the house and poultry farm of a local farmer in a reprisal attack.
An eyewitness, Janet Haruna, reported that the incident stemmed from the alleged killing of a security guard employed by the farmer.
“The young man was suspected of stealing eggs from the poultry farm,” Haruna explained.
According to reports, the farmer’s son, who suspected the theft, confronted and allegedly beat the security guard to death.
The enraged youths then targeted the farmer’s property, burning down his house and looting the poultry farm before setting it on fire.
Consumed by rage, the youths lashed out at the farmer’s belongings.
