Fintiri advocates constitutional means on LG autonomy
Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri of Adamawa State has advocated constitutional means and amendments endorsed by two-thirds of the 36 State of the Federation to ensure local government autonomy in the country.
According to the Governor, @GovernorAUF “As Governor of Adamawa State, I am an advocate of true federalism and strongly believe that local government should have full autonomy.

“This should be pursued through appropriate constitutional means and amendments, supported by two-thirds of the State Houses of Assembly.
“I urge the federal government to emulate this by giving states what fully belongs to them from federal allocations, as opposed to the nearly 52% deduction currently witnessed.

“Additionally, the federal government should demonstrate transparency by separating the office of the Accountant-General of the Federation from that of the federal government.
“This will engender rapid development and transparency at all levels -AUF”
