Inflation figures under Nigerian Presidents 1999 – 2024

Commodities hit by high inflation figures

Inflation figures dropped significantly in the administration of former President Olusegun Obasanjo in 1999 from 11.3% to 8,28% one month after inauguration.

There was also drop of inflation figures from 15.04% to 12.91% in the administration of former President Goodluck Jonathan one month after inauguration.

There was marginal increase in inflation rate from 9.00% to 9.30% in the administration of former President Muhammadu Buhari in 2015 five months after inauguration.

Inflation figure rose significantly in the administration of incumbent President Bola Tinubu in 2024 from 22.41% to 33.40% 15 months after inauguration.
