Nigerian forward Victor Osimhen has further solidified his place in the country’s football history, becoming the joint-second all-time top scorer for the Super Eagles.
Osimhen reached this milestone on Thursday night, scoring his 23rd goal for Nigeria in a crucial 1-1 draw against Benin Republic in their Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifying match.
The goal propelled the Galatasaray striker into a tie for second place on Nigeria’s all-time scoring chart with football legend Segun Odegbami.
The late Rashidi Yekini remains Nigeria’s top scorer with an impressive 37 goals, a record that continues to stand unmatched.
