Brentford forward Wissa out for months with ankle injury
Brentford manager Thomas Frank has confirmed that Yoane Wissa will be out for several months due to an ankle injury sustained in the team’s recent match against Manchester City. The injury is a significant blow to Brentford’s forward line.
Brentford manager Thomas Frank has confirmed that DR Congo international Yoane Wissa will be sidelined for several months due to an ankle injury suffered during Saturday’s 2-1 defeat to Manchester City.
Wissa opened the scoring for Brentford within the first minute of the match before City’s Erling Haaland responded with a brace.
However, the forward, whose goal against Manchester City was reminiscent of his strike against Everton in the 2021/2022 season, was forced off the field in the first half after a tackle by City’s Mateo Kovacic.
Following a scan on Monday, Frank delivered the disappointing news to Brentford supporters.

“Wissa is, unfortunately, not good news – it looks like an injury that will be a couple of months,” he said.
Wissa’s injury is a setback for Brentford, who have already faced a number of injuries this season.
The team is currently ninth in the Premier League table with six points.
