Former President of the Senate, Dr. Abubakar Bukola Saraki, and Governor Ademola Adeleke of Osun State, on Wednesday, mourned the death of the late Chief of Army Staff, Lt. General Taoreed Abiodun Lagbaja.
Saraki acknowledged the late COAS’s contributions to safeguarding the country and promoting peace and security.

Saraki in a condolence message emphasised @bukolasaraki,
“My family and I join the nation in mourning the passing of the Chief of Army Staff, Lt. General Taoreed Abiodun Lagbaja.
“General Lagbaja’s contributions to safeguarding our nation and advancing peace and security in our communities will be remembered with deep respect and gratitude.

“To his grieving family and the entire Nigerian Armed Forces, we extend our deepest condolences. We pray that Almighty Allah (SWT) grants him a place amongst the righteous in Al Jannah Firdaus.
Ameen.”
Governor Ademola Adeleke also declared @AAdeleke_01,
“On behalf of the people and Government of Osun State, I commiserate with the Commander – in- Chief of the Nigerian Army; President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the men and women of the Nigerian Armed Forces, my people of Ilobu, the great Lagbaja family, Mrs Mariya Lagbaja and the children on the untimely exit of the Chief of Army Staff, Lt. General Taoheed Lagbaja.

“Within his short stint in office, he enforced professionalism and battled terrorists and bandits with terrifying fierceness. He launched out and commenced the implementation of root and branch reform of the Nigerian Army, with a big vision of operational reforms within the service.
“He was a very hardworking officer, a true workaholic, a fierce soldier, a replica of the traditional army officer with an ambitious plan for modernization and integration of the Nigerian Army.

“In late General Lagbaja, we lost a great military leader with the poise, the confidence and the firmness to realize the vision of a new Nigerian Army. We surrender to the will of the Almighty creator and mourn together on this sad occasion.”
