Dele Farotimi: A Revolutionary Voice for Justice and Unity
I am proud of Dele Farotimi. He was actually my senior at LASU, where he left his revolutionary footprints. I have followed him lately and can see that the passion for a new Nigeria burns brightly in him.
I love him greatly because of the foregoing – essentially his patriotic and revolutionary credentials.
I also admire the way, driven by his love for justice, he dares to defend the Igbos against injustice. Because of this – his defence of the Igbos- people like Uncle Joe Igbokwe loathe him with passion. See what Joe reposted on his wall and say “Tufiakwa” to the man!

Now, read Uncle Joe:
“Tyranny of the mob. Am really scared for the kind of future we are building for Nigeria. We now have different kinds of so called activists who say just anything to malign the reputation of people and when those people complain, the social media mob will harrass and bully them endlessly. The new hero of Nigerians VDM said uncompromising things about Femi Falana and when Falana sought redress they threatened to kill his wife and children and burn down his house. A guy called Darlington started harrasing Burna Boy and his mum saying all kinds of terrible things and when BB got the police to arrest him the social media mob ran amock. This man Dele Farotimi is used to saying all kinds of bombastic things on national TV. If care is not taken, some Nigerians will start taking laws into their hands and we may soon start hearing that people are because of things like this. We cannot have a society where people use their free speech to destroy the lives of others. We must all allow this case to go through the legal process. It’s becoming too much.. majority of the people insulting Afe Babalola have not even read the book or the charge. Hardly do they know it’s a criminal libel case.”
