The 2024 Thanksgiving Service of the Synagogue Church of All Nations (SCOAN) held on Sunday, December 8, was a concert of hymns and songs of praise spiced with a heart-warming message delivered by the leader of the church, Pastor Evelyn T.B. Joshua.
The church choir was at their best as they rendered soul-lifting songs to usher in the large congregation in the main auditorium of the church and its extensions. Worshipers, in their colourful attires came from different parts of the world to take part in the annual event.
With a Bible reading by Pastor Chivasa from Zimbabwe, taken from Psalm 105: 1-8, the church sang and praised God for His blessings in the out-going year.
As Pastor Evelyn T.B. Joshua stepped up to deliver her thanksgiving address, she was greeted with a loud ovation.
She declared that God has been faithful to the church “and we say all honour, all praise, all adoration be unto God.” She thanked the church and their partners for their support, commitment, hard work, love, unity of purpose, and integrity.
Pastor Evelyn T.B Joshua, who has stunned the world with uncommon courage and grace to lead the church also pointed out that it has been a year of immense blessings, mercy, favour, faithfulness, newness and breakthrough.
She recalled that “despite initial challenges through which Satan and his agents tried to create tension and spoil our name, we have remained as constant as the northern star.”
She pointed out that the passion of the church for Christ has remained strong as their belief in the gospel has remained unshaken.
Going down memory lane, she recalled that by the special grace of God, the Akure Church meeting took place in January this year, during which “our Lord Jesus Christ manifested Himself, just as the Ghana church has proved to be spiritually charged with the manifestation of God’s glory in different dimensions.
She also remarked that the Ghana branch meeting in February was a huge success as lives were transformed.
Other events that made the year a huge success according to the leader, was a revival at the church’s prayer mountain in Lagos, the 18th anniversary of Emmanuel TV, which she said is the major mouthpiece of the church.
Through the channel, she said many received deliverance, salvation, revival and restoration, even as she described it as a major source of dismantling evil foundations while bringing freedom of mind to worshipers.
Another major event that took place in the out-going year, as she recalled, was the third year memorial of Prophet T.B. Joshua, her late husband, who she described as a teacher and motivator. The event, which was also characterised by praise and worship, she recalled, was attended by worshipers from different parts of the world. Among other events and programmes organised by the church in the year, were activities lined up to preserve the lives and times of the founder, including youth empowerment programmes.
There was also the SCOAN Women of Faith Conference. The church also made its presence felt in Argentina in October, even as it continued with its works of charity.
The praise singing and worship were complimented with exciting performances of MC Chioma and KC Brown. There was an opera performance by Esther Oputteh and a solo performance by Doris Osuagwu. There were also guest artists who injected vibes into the thanksgiving service, among them, gospel singer, Henry praise.
