Rivers govt. appoints new members of Civil Service, LG commissions
The Sole Administrator of Rivers State, Vice Admiral Ibok-Ete Ibas (Rtd), has officially approved the appointments of members to both the Civil Service Commission and the Local Government Service Commission.
This was announced by Prof. Ibibia Worika, the Secretary to the State Government (SSG), in a press statement issued to newsmen in Port Harcourt on Wednesday.
According to the statement, the new appointments took effect on April 7, 2025. Dr. Livinus Bariki has been appointed as the Chairman of the Civil Service Commission, with Mr. Lot Peter Egopija, Mrs. Maeve Ere Bestman, Mrs. Joy Obiaju, and Mrs. Charity Lloyd Harry named as members.

For the Local Government Service Commission, Mr. Israel Amadi has been appointed as Chairman, while Mr. Linus Nwandem, Mrs. Christabel George Didia, and Dr. Tonye Willie Pepple will serve as members.
Additional members of the commission include Mr. Richard Ewoh, Rear Admiral Emmanuel Ofik (Rtd), and Dr. Sammy Apiafi.
The appointments are expected to bring fresh perspectives and contributions to the smooth functioning of the civil service and local government services in Rivers State.
