More hurdles practice, because I had been doing more sprinting. After the first two Diamond League meetings, I knew I had to go back to doing more hurdle drills. Two weeks in, I can tell the difference.”
Nigerian hurdler and world record holder Tobi Amusan clinched her first major victory of the 2025 season by winning the women’s 100 meters hurdles at the Rabat Diamond League in Morocco on Sunday.
Tobi Amusan crossed the finish line in a blistering 12.45 seconds, setting a new meet record and decisively surpassing the previous mark of 12.51 seconds, which was set by American Brianna McNeal in 2018.
This triumph marks a significant comeback for the 28-year-old athlete, who had previously finished fourth in the season’s earlier Diamond League meetings in Xiamen and Shanghai.
Tobi Amusan attributed her impressive improved performance to a renewed and intensified focus on her hurdle technique.
