Tobi Amusan set for fierce 100mH showdown at Paris diamond league
World record holder Tobi Amusan returns to her signature 100m hurdles event at the Paris Diamond League on Friday, June 20, aiming for her second consecutive victory this season.
Nigeria’s reigning world record holder in the 100m hurdles, Tobi Amusan, is set to return to action on Friday, June 20, at the Paris Diamond League, where she will contend in a highly anticipated women’s 100mH event against a stacked field.
Amusan, who recently secured her first victory of the season in the event at the Rabat Diamond League, clocking a Season’s Best (SB) of 12.45s (1.2) to finish ahead of Nadine Visser (12.67s) and Pia Skrzyszowska (12.69s), will be gunning for another triumph in the French capital.
The competition in Paris is expected to be even more intense, with a formidable lineup that includes Jamaica’s Ackera Nugent, Stockholm Diamond League winner Grace Stark, world indoor champion Devynne Charlton, former world record holder Keni Harrison, and the strong duo she recently defeated in Rabat.

Having last competed in a flat 100m event at the Racers Grand Prix, where she posted a decent SB of 11.18s to finish fourth behind established sprinters Tina Clayton, Jacious Sears, and Alana Reid, the Nigerian star will be looking to transfer that speed and lower her Season’s Best in her trademark hurdles event.
Tobi Amusan is widely known for improving her performance as the season progresses.
Given the caliber of competition she will face in Paris, the event offers a prime opportunity for her to secure another significant win in a good time, as she continues her preparations for the World Championships slated for Tokyo later this summer.
