Mothers of kidnapped Oyo schoolchildren cry out to Tinubu, Makinde (Video)
Mothers of pupils and teachers abducted from schools in Oriire Local Government Area of Oyo State have made an emotional appeal to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Governor Seyi Makinde and security agencies to urgently intensify efforts toward securing the safe release of their loved ones.
The grieving women, overwhelmed by fear and uncertainty, pleaded with the government not to abandon the victims, many of whom they described as very young children.
Speaking amid tears, one of the mothers lamented that families have been left devastated since the abduction occurred, saying they have received little comfort while waiting anxiously for news about the victims’ whereabouts.
“We are begging the government… our children were kidnapped from the school and we don’t know where they are. Government, please come to our rescue,” she cried.
Another distressed mother appealed passionately to authorities to act quickly before the situation worsens for the abducted pupils and teachers.
“Our children are still missing. Some of them are very young, just babies. We cry every day thinking about what they may be passing through. Please don’t let them die in the bush. We beg you in the name of God,” she said.

The women expressed fears over the safety, health and welfare of the abducted victims, especially considering the harsh conditions they may be facing while in captivity.
They urged security agencies to deploy all available resources to ensure the victims are rescued alive and reunited with their families without delay.
Residents of the affected communities were said to have been thrown into panic following the abduction, with many parents now expressing concern over the growing insecurity around schools and rural communities in the state.
Community leaders and residents also appealed to both the federal and state governments to strengthen security surveillance around schools and improve rapid emergency response systems to prevent further attacks on educational institutions.
The incident has once again highlighted rising concerns over kidnappings and attacks targeting schools and vulnerable communities across parts of the country.
Parents in the area say the prolonged delay in securing the release of the victims is worsening the trauma being experienced by affected families.
As of the time of filing this report, security agencies had yet to officially disclose details of ongoing rescue operations, while families continued to wait anxiously for positive news about the abducted children and teachers.
