Harry Kane equals Gerd Müller, climbs to fifth on FIFA World Cup all-time scorers list
Harry Kane has climbed to joint fifth place on FIFA’s all-time FIFA World Cup scorers chart after netting in England’s dramatic 3-2 victory over Mexico in the Round of 16.
The England captain reached the milestone after scoring his side’s decisive goal in the knockout clash, taking his overall World Cup tally to 14 goals from just 16 appearances at the tournament.
The strike sees the England national football team skipper draw level with German football legend Gerd Müller on 14 World Cup goals, moving into a share of fifth place on the competition’s all-time scoring rankings.
Kane’s latest achievement further cements his reputation as one of the greatest goalscorers in World Cup history and places him within striking distance of the players above him on the prestigious list.

At the top of the standings is Lionel Messi with 20 World Cup goals, followed by Kylian Mbappé with 19 goals.
Former Germany striker Miroslav Klose occupies third place with 16 goals, while Brazilian icon Ronaldo Nazário is fourth with 15 goals.
Kane and Müller now share fifth position with 14 goals each.
French striker Just Fontaine follows with 13 goals, while Brazilian legend Pelé is next on 12.
The trio of Cristiano Ronaldo, Sándor Kocsis and Jürgen Klinsmann each have 11 World Cup goals.
Kane’s latest landmark comes as England continue their quest for World Cup glory, with the Bayern Munich striker once again proving decisive on the biggest stage in international football.
