Full list: Six countries already qualified for 2030 FIFA World Cup

Six countries have already secured qualification for the 2030 FIFA World Cup following FIFA’s confirmation of the tournament’s unprecedented six-nation hosting arrangement.

Morocco, Portugal and Spain will jointly host the majority of the expanded tournament, while Uruguay, Argentina and Paraguay will stage special centenary matches to commemorate 100 years since the inaugural FIFA World Cup in 1930.

As host nations, all six countries automatically qualify for the finals.

FIFA formally ratified the hosting arrangement during an Extraordinary FIFA Congress in December 2024, where all 211 member associations approved the bids for the 2030 and 2034 World Cups.

The governing body also confirmed Saudi Arabia as host of the 2034 FIFA World Cup.

Morocco, Portugal and Spain will stage the bulk of the tournament, hosting 101 matches, while Uruguay, Argentina and Paraguay will each host one match during the opening week as part of FIFA’s centenary celebrations.

According to FIFA, the unique arrangement honours the first World Cup, held in Uruguay in 1930.

Uruguay will host the official centenary celebration in Montevideo as the inaugural host and first world champion. Argentina was selected in recognition of its appearance in the 1930 final, while Paraguay will host a match as the home of South American football governing body CONMEBOL.

After the three commemorative fixtures in South America, the tournament will shift to Morocco, Portugal and Spain for the opening ceremony and the remainder of the competition.

To accommodate the transcontinental format, FIFA has confirmed that additional travel and rest days will be built into the schedule for the six teams involved in the centenary matches.

The commemorative fixtures are expected to be played on June 8 and 9, 2030, before the tournament officially gets underway in Morocco, Portugal and Spain on June 13 or 14.

The World Cup final is scheduled for July 21, 2030.

FIFA said the revised timetable will remain within the existing international match calendar, ensuring no additional player release period will be required despite the added travel demands.
