Kane Closes in on Ronaldo’s Champions League Scoring Record After 10th Straight Goal
Bayern Munich striker Harry Kane has moved within one match of Cristiano Ronaldo’s record for the longest consecutive scoring streak in UEFA Champions League history after finding the net in his 10th successive appearance in the competition.
The England captain scored from the penalty spot to give Bayern the lead against Arsenal at the Allianz Arena on Wednesday, October 21, before Declan Rice equalised for the visiting London club.
According to UEFA, Kane’s goal during Matchday Three of the 2026/27 Champions League league phase made him only the second player to score in 10 consecutive matches in the competition.
Ronaldo holds the record with 11 successive scoring appearances for Real Madrid during the 2017/18 campaign. The Portuguese forward scored 17 goals during the remarkable run.
Kane has now moved ahead of former Manchester United striker Ruud van Nistelrooy and Poland international Robert Lewandowski, who each recorded nine-match scoring streaks.
Lewandowski achieved the feat twice while playing for Bayern Munich, during the 2019/20 and 2020/21 seasons.
Ronaldo’s record-breaking run began with two goals in Real Madrid’s 4-1 victory over Juventus in the 2017 Champions League final. He subsequently scored in all six group-stage matches of the 2017/18 campaign before finding the net in both legs of Real Madrid’s round-of-16 tie against Paris Saint-Germain and their quarter-final encounter with Juventus.

Kane will now have the opportunity to equal Ronaldo’s record if he scores in Bayern’s next Champions League appearance. Another goal would take him to 11 consecutive scoring matches, while a further strike in a subsequent appearance would establish a new record.
The longest consecutive scoring streaks in Champions League history are led by Ronaldo with 11 matches, followed by Kane with 10. Van Nistelrooy and Lewandowski share third place with nine matches each, while Ronaldo also recorded an eight-match streak during the 2013/14 season.
UEFA’s statistics cover matches from the group stage or league phase through to the final.
