Aston Villa vs Man City: Haaland, Jackson set for goal-filled clash
By Ihuoma Inyama
Aston Villa face a major test when they welcome Manchester City to Villa Park on Saturday, with both sides heading into the Premier League clash in strong form.
Manchester City have made a perfect start to the league campaign, winning all seven of their matches and scoring 19 goals in the process. Aston Villa, meanwhile, have recovered from a difficult opening to the season and have won five of their last six games.
Villa’s recent revival has been driven by improved performances in attack, with Nicolas Jackson making a strong impression since joining the club. The Senegal international has registered nine shots on target across his last four appearances.

City will provide a considerably tougher challenge, particularly with Erling Haaland in outstanding form. The striker leads the Premier League scoring charts with eight goals and has found the net in each of his last seven appearances for the club.
Recent meetings between the sides also point towards an entertaining contest. Both teams have scored in nine of their last 11 league encounters, while five of the last seven meetings have produced at least three goals.
City have also won five of their last seven away matches, while Villa are still searching for their first home league victory of the season.
With City averaging more than three goals across their last six matches and Villa scoring 10 times in their last three, a high-scoring encounter is expected at Villa Park.
The prediction is for Manchester City to edge the contest 3-1, with Haaland backed to score and Jackson expected to test the City defence and goalkeeper.
