APC crisis: Two defected Senators return to ruling party
The uncertainties in the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) continue to unfold with daily political transactions in the country. About 24 hours after 15 senators defected from the ruling APC, 14 to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and one to the African Democratic Congress (ADC), two Senators – Lanre Tejuoso, Ogun Central, and Adesoji Akanbi, Oyo South, who were among the 15 defected senators on Tuesday, made U turn, declaring they are returning back to the ruling party.
The two senators joined other APC senators that held meeting with President Muhammad Buhari on Wednesday night at the State House, to show solidarity and pledge their loyalty to the ruling APC.
Senator Tejuoso, at the meeting told President Buhari said, “Mr. President, your son has returned home.”
Senator Akanbi had Tuesday denounced his defection saying his name was erroneously listed as a defector.
National Daily gathered that the senators at Wednesday’s solidarity visit to President Buhari included Senator Shehu Sani from Kaduna State, who has been threatening to leave the party. The rest are: Adamu Aliero, Bala Ibn Na-Allah, Aliyu Wammako, Ibrahim Gobir, Kabiru Marafa, Abu Ibrahim, Kabiru Gaya, Barau Jibrin, Abdullahi Gumel, Ahmed Lawan, , Ali Ndume, Abubakar Kyari, Baba Kaka Garbai, Aliyu Abdullahi, David Umaru, Abdullahi Adamu, George Akume, Francis Alimekhina, Andrew Uchendu, Magnus Abe, Ovie Omo-Agege, John Enoh, Nelson Effiong, Andy Uba, Sunny Ugboji, Hope Uzodinma, Ben Uwajimogu, Yusuf Abubakar, Oluremi Tinubu, Gbenga Ashafa, Solomon Adeola, Tayo Alasoadura, Soji Akanbi, Ajayi Boroffice, Yele Omogunwa, Fatima Rasaki, Olanrewaju Tejuoso, Yahaya Abdullahi.
