Bernabeu, the second most empty stadium in LaLiga
The attendance figures of the Estadio Santiago Bernabeu continue to drop and Real Madrid had the second worst percentage of their ground filled last weekend, based on the population of the area that each LaLiga Santander side plays in.
Los Blancos also recorded their second lowest attendance in LaLiga Santander this season as they lost 2-0 against Real Sociedad.
For Madrid, 2018 ended with a 55,229 attending the game against Rayo Vallecano, followed by a further decrease to 53,412 against La Real.
Espanyol registered the worst ratio with 2.46 percent of Barcelona’s 1,620,809 citizens attending their game against Leganes, while Eibar (15.10 percent) and Huesca (11.75 percent) can boast about their support from the locals.
The Camp Nou records the highest average attendance figure with 76,317 fans, followed by the Bernabeu’s 62,708 and the Estadio Wanda Metropolitano, Atletico Madrid’s home, with 57,384.
LaLiga Santander’s highest attendance this season was recorded in El Clasico on October 28, when 90,985 fans visited the Camp Nou; the lowest came in Eibar’s 0-0 draw against Villarreal last Sunday as 4,141 supporters were at Ipurua.
