Musa pledged 1million to U-23
The Captain of the Senior National Team of Nigeria Ahmed Musa has made a pledge of one million naira per goal to the Nigeria U23 team ahead of the return leg of their Africa U23 Cup of Nations Qualifiers game against Libya, National Daily gathered.
Nigeria U23 will take on Libya on Monday seeking to overturn a 0-2 deficit suffered in the first leg in Tunisia if they are to seal their spot at the Africa U23 Cup of Nations, which is also the qualifiers for the football event of the Olympics in Tokyo next year.
Musa who captained the Super Eagles to a 3-1 win over Seychelles yesterday made the pledge to the team after their evening training session as his own contribution to the team to motivate them for the game.
Already four players who were with the Super Eagles during preparations for the Seychelles game have been drafted to the team by coach Gernot Rohr to help them strengthen in defence and attack.
The coach Imama Amapakabo led team need at least three goals to seal progression, hence the decision to draft on loan Wolfsburg forward Victor Osimhen who has 12 league goals in Belgium for Charleroi to the team.
He will partner on loan Liverpool forward Taiwo Awoniyi who has 8 league goals in a remarkable run which has seen him score in all but two of the games he has played for Mouscron since his move in January.
