Adeola Ajayi assumes role as new DSS DG
Adeola Ajayi has officially assumed the role of Director General (DG) of the Department of State Services (DSS), succeeding Yusuf Bichi.
President Bola Tinubu appointed Ajayi earlier this week.
In a statement on Thursday, DSS Spokesperson Peter Afunanya reported that Ajayi plans to steer the Service towards a more covert operational approach, potentially involving greater discretion on certain matters.
Ajayi was welcomed by Bichi in a handover ceremony, where both leaders reflected on their past collaboration and mutual respect.
In his farewell remarks, Bichi urged DSS staff to support Ajayi fully in his new role.
