Dorcas Adesokan, Nigeria’s lone participant in the women’s singles event of the 2020 Olympic Games badminton competition, on Tuesday dropped out of contention for a podium finish.
The 23-year-old lost at the Musashino Forest Plaza court in two straight sets of 3-21 and 6-21 to An Seyoung of South Korea for another 2-0 defeat.
The National Daily reports that Adesokan had lost 0-2 to Clara Azurmendi of Spain on Monday in another Group Pay Stage fixture.
Her loss meant she cannot advance from her Group C to the next stage of the competition.
