Again, ex-President Jonathan’s house attacked; more casualties this time
One soldier, three armed were killed in a shootout on the premises of the Otuoke home of former President Goodluck Jonathan early Tuesday morning.
The gunmen, according to report, came in five speed boats and entered the courtyard situated on the bank of a river at Otuoke in Ogbia LGA of Bayelsa.
The robbers were said to have stormed the security post located about 100 metres away from former President’s residence. They also attempted to take away a gunboat belonging to the military stationed at the creek beside the residence.
But the soldiers on guard engaged them in a fire fight, and a soldier died I the exchange. Three of the armed robbers were gunned down too before others fled.
The former president’s was burglarized early in the year, personal belongings worth hundreds of thousands of naira were stolen by the thieves who were mostly his hangers-on and domestic hands.
