Aisha Yesufu reacts after Iran President canceled interview because Amanpour refused head scarf
After Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi canceled an interview with CNN reporter Christiane Amanpour due to her refusal to wear a head scarf, political activist Aisha Yesufu has reacted.
It was reported that the interview was scheduled to hold on Wednesday in New York but the president opted out after she refused to use a head scarf
Amanpour’s post after the interview was canceled
Iran has made wearing a hijab and covering one’s head a legal requirement after a lady was recently beaten to death for failing to properly cover her hair.
The young woman’s death sparked a nationwide uprising in the nation, and it was said that both lives and property were lost in the process.
Reacting to the president’s reason for declining the interview, Yesufu said it is such arrogance stating that it was wrong of him to impose a headscarf on everyone
she said no one can tell her to remove her scarf therefore no one should force anyone to wear a scarf
