Akpabio appoints Adeola Chairman, Senate Appropriations Committee, Wadada chairman, Public Accounts Committee
The President of the Senate, Godswill Akpabio, at plenary on Tuesday unveiled the constitution of standing committees in the Upper chamber of the National Assembly, disclosing that appointment of Senator Solomon Adeola as chairman of the Appropriations Committee, Senator Ahmed Wadada as chairman of the Public Accounts Committee.
Senate President Akpabio also revealed other senate committees and their members. Details later.

Senate President Akpabio further read a letter from President Bola Tinubu requesting the confirmation of the service chiefs. The senate president noting that the service chiefs would be screened by the entire senate, did not disclose to date for the screening and confirmation.
The service chiefs to be screened and confirmed by the seante include Nuhu Ribadu, National Security Adviser; Maj. Gen. Christopher Musa, Chief of Defence Staff; Maj. Gen. Taoreed Lagbaja, Chief of Army Staff; Rear Admiral Emmanuel Ogalla, Chief of Naval Staff; and AVM Hassan Abubakar, Chief of Air Staff.

They replaced security chiefs inherited from former President Muhammadu Buhari; who include retired Maj-Gen Babagana Monguno, National Security Adviser; General Lucky Irabor, Chief of Defence Staff; Faruk Yahaya, Chief of Army Staff; Awwal Gambo, Chief of Naval Staff; and Isiaka Amao, Chief of Air Staff.
