Another Senator passes on
Mustapha Bukar, the Senator representing Katsina North has been reported dead.
He was said to have passed on at about 10am on Wednesday after a brief illness at the age of 63. Until his death, Bukar was the chairman senate committee on capital market.
He was elected on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in 2015. He was a first time lawmaker.
Born December 31, 1954, the senator obtained an engineering degree from Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, in 1978.
He was general manager of Kaduna state water board in 1991. He went on to be director of Katsina state water board in 2008.
Bukar will be buried in Daura, Kastina state, according to Islamic rites.
His death follows that of Ali Wakili, senator representing Bauchi south, and Buba Jibril, minority leader of the House of Representatives.
