APC Convention: Gov Bello disagrees with Northern Governors on power shift to South, promises to support Buhari’s consensus
Governor Yahaya Bello of Kogi State, presidential aspirant on the platform of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) has expressed his disagreement with Northern APC Governors for deciding to zone the party’s 2023 presidential ticket to the South. he, however, promised to support any consensus candidate that President Muhammadu Buhari picks for the party as the APC commences its national convention on Monday.
Governor Bello declared that the resolutions of the northern governors to shift power to the South is not binding on him.
The Kogi governor insisted that he has the support of 60 percent of the APC delegates at the party’s convention.
Bello declared that he will not withdraw from the presidential race in a hurry because of the decision of the northern governors.
Governor Bello was cited to have declared: “If it comes from President Buhari himself, I will one hundred percent support the person if I am not selected. If it is any other person, I will support the person because that is his wisdom. He knows better than me and he sees better than me.”
