All Progressives Congress Women and other party members in Eti-Osa East LCDA have pleaded with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, to prevail on stakeholders and the party’s Central Senatorial District Reconciliation Committee to review the marginalisation of the only female aspirant in Eti-Osa East LCDA.

Mr. Jerry Ogunyemi an APC member made the call during a press conference held on Monday at Eti-Osa East LCDA, to express the need for intervention of the party’s leadership, so as to ensure Hon Balogun Rashidat Fadewe gets back the ticket for Vice Chairmanship in the area.

He maintained that Fadewe has made immense contributions to herald even development in the area, as a ward councillor in 2008 and till date still tries her best to better the lot of the people in the area, so she is the right person for the job.

Another party member Assistant Venerable Superior Babatunde Joseph (JP) was quick to add that Fadewe and her family were influential in the provision of lands for the constructions of the existing primary health centre, a modern market and a secondary school in the area.

He added that given her commitments thus far geared towards ensuring the wellbeing of the people, she remain a popular choice of the people and so, President Bola Tinubu and his wife should intervene and help ensure her mandate is restored.

“Save us from the continued servitude women suffer in Eti-Osa East LCDA, women have been dispossessed of many opportunities here.

“They have been a tool in our hands especially during electioneering periods, they go extra miles for our party, areas where men cannot penetrate they do that for us.

“It is time to consider one of our women from Ward C in Eti-Osa East LCDA Hon. Balogun Rashidat Fadewe.

“Our first lady Senator Oluremi Tinubu’s always call for more inclusion of the women in the political landscape this another basis for her claims.

“Fadewe having been congratulated as the vice chairmanship candidate was told to get ready but suddenly the story changed and we had that her name was substituted.

“Elsewhere around Eti-Osa wherever you have a male as chairman, the vice is usually a female and where a female is chairman an male is the vice chairman to ensure balance.

In our own case it is the contrary a civil servant was asked to hurriedly resign so as to take up the ticket, as allegedly hatched by Justice Forum camp, who bragged that they already shared the slots amongst themselves from chairman to secretary to the local government before the primary.

“We urge our President Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu to prevail on them so that the right thing can be done here.”

Group of women who were cladded in branded capes-with inscriptions Women More- More Women on it also added that most of the exco positions from zone to ward and the LGA level were shared amongst the men.

Modinat Imambanni Ward C secretary, Adebisi Agunbiade the Ward C woman leader and Blessing Onoja from Ward E all call for better representation for women in the area.

We plead with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and his wife Yeye Oluremi Tinubu to intervene in our matter and rescue us from the stranglehold of our polity by men.

“Hon Balogun Rashidat Fadewe  has been there for us ever since she was a councillor, she did contested the primary as the only female, she prides high the interest of the party and has been 100 percent loyal.

“Women should not be allowed to be muscled here, Fadewe we know, she is the one we want, we should not be deprived of this single opportunity that can better transform our lives.

” The civil servant they substituted her name with is not known to us, he has no connection with the grassroots like Alhaja Fadewe, her name signals development our children now have a school within our locality.

“Unlike before our people who need health care travel as far as Badore, Ajah before they can access health facilities all thanks to Alhaja Fadewe there is a functional PHC.

“Even she with the support of her family released an acre of land to government, on which Folashade Tinubu Ojo’s modern market was constructed.”

Hon Balogun Rashidat Fadewe however, made an appeal to the party’s leadership as a committed party member to help review the situation and avail a remedy.

“I am crying and pleading that our President Bola Ahmed Tinubu intervene in this matter.

“Why must our women have to fight before we can get anything? Fadewe plead.
