APC suspends three ward leaders in Edo over alleged anti-party activities, misconduct
The leadership of the All Progressives Congress in Ward 06, Oredo Local Government Area of Edo State, has announced the indefinite suspension of three of its members over allegations of anti-party activities, factionalisation and gross misconduct.
In a statement issued by the Ward 06 Publicity Secretary, Bright Omorogieva, the party said the decision followed an emergency meeting of ward executives held on Tuesday, May 19, 2026, where complaints against the affected members were reviewed and adopted.
The suspended members were identified as Mr. Henry Okaka, a ward leader; Ivie Violet Ojaga, the Welfare Officer; and Peter Osiowan, the Assistant Youth Leader.
According to the ward leadership, the decision was taken after the executives examined allegations bordering on persistent anti-party conduct, internal factional activities, and repeated violations of party rules and directives.
“The allegations of anti-party activities, factionalization, persistent misconduct, and continuous violation of party rules, regulations, and directives were thoroughly reviewed and confirmed to be true,” the statement read.

The ward executives stated that the suspension was carried out in accordance with Article 21 of the party’s constitution, which empowers disciplinary action against members whose conduct is considered capable of bringing the party into disrepute.
Omorogieva further disclosed that the resolution was unanimously endorsed by all 21 ward leaders and executive members present at the meeting, adding that attendance records and signatures were attached to the official documentation to validate the decision.
Party sources within the ward said the move reflects a growing internal effort to enforce discipline and maintain cohesion ahead of future political activities in Edo State, where party structures have remained highly competitive.
The suspension is expected to intensify political tension within Ward 06, as stakeholders monitor how the disciplinary action may affect internal alignments and mobilisation within the local APC structure.
