Arewa suspends Youth Leader over derogatory comment against Vice President
The Arewa Community in All Progressives Congress Lagos State has suspended its Youth Leader Ibrahim Bebeji, over derogatory comment against the person of the Vice President of Nigeria Senator Kashim Shettima.
In a statement signed by the Lagos Arewa Community’s secretary Alhaji Umar Farooq on Saturday, Bebeji was alleged to have ran foul of the body’s constitutional provision that pertains to character defamation.
The statement reads: “Our attention has been drawn to a statement attributed to Ibrahim Bebeji the youth leader, containing derogatory remarks against the person the Vice President of Nigeria Senator Kashim Shettima.

“An emergency executive meeting was convened to investigate the veracity of the offense and review the relevant provisions of the Arewa Community APC’s constitution.
“Character defamation of a high-ranking government official or party leaders is a grave offense.
“After careful consideration, the Arewa Community APC hereby suspends Ibrahim Bebeji indefinitely.”
