Bad luck for APC as Kastina Rep member dumps party for PDP
The membership of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in Katsina depleted on Tuesday, December 11 as a member of the House of Representatives from the state, Ibrahim Murtala, defected to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
It was reported that Murtala, who is representing Matazu/ Musawa Federal Constituency, announced his defection in a letter read by the Speaker, Mr Yakubu Dogara, on the floor of the House.
The report said in the letter, Murtala said that he wished to inform the house and the general public that he was no longer a card-carrying member of the APC.
It was learnt that the lawmaker said he would start pursuing his political career under the umbrella of the PDP.
