Bandits invade Taraba, Benue border community, kidnap many
Bandits on Saturday invaded a community on the border of Taraba and Benue states, destroyed property, kidnapping many residents, and killing one.
Many residents of the border community adjacent to Benue State were compelled to flee to Koffai Ahmadu in Takum Local Government Area during the bandits operations. Accordingly, many residents were displaced from their ancestral homes.
Chairman of Takum Local Government Area, Shiban Tikari, was gathered to have in a media interaction acknowledged the invasion, saying that there is already reinforcement of security in the neighbouring communities to forestall further attacks.
The LG chairman disclosed that the government has commenced arrangements to take care of the displaced persons, and subsequently resettle them back to their ancestral homes.
