Bandits kidnap first class traditional ruler, wife in Nasarawa
The Police on Monday disclosed the kidnapping of the Emir of Gurku, a first-class traditional ruler in Nasarawa State, HRH Jibrin Mohammed, and his wife, by bandits.
The Police Public Relations Officer of the Nasarawa State Command, DSP Ramhan Nansel, in a media interaction, acknowledged that the Emir was abducted from his palace, a few kilometres from the Mararraba town, Karu Local Government Area, on Sunday night. He said that the kidnappers also whisked away the wife of the traditional.
The PPRO said that a combined team of Police officers and vigilante groups immediately commenced search and rescue operations, combing the bushes within the area after receiving a distress call.
The Command has mobilised additional police personnel from the Police Tactical Team, Anti-Kidnapping Unit and others from the Karu Area Command deployed to the area to rescue the traditional ruler and his wife.
